  • Pickups that cut through really well.

What are your impressions of pickups that cut through in the mix really well just because of their basic design? Lets not do just the high output or hot pickups, lets make sure we include a lot of vintage style pickups.

Gibson LP Melody Maker -- stock, Epiphone Dot -- Jazz neck and '59 bridge, Fender Telecaster Blackout Deluxe -- stock, 90's MIM Standard Strat with Duncan Texas Hot Custom in the bridge.

Anything with mids and/or upper mids cut like a knife...the guitar is a midrange instrument so anything that enhances that quality will allow it to cut through mixes well and be heard.

Pickups that come to mind are JB, Super 3 etc...

A good Tele lead pickup will get through one way or another.
