  • La Brea bridge: AWG43 or AWG42?

    Hi all,

Simple question really... Is La Brea bridge a Broadcaster (would with #43) or a Bakersfield? If we go with that particular paisley guitar, 1968 kinda suggests it to be sorta Bakersfield; so #42... but then 7.5K is a bit hot. See?

Anyways, I know the DC values are not the end of the story and the winding patterns have a huge impact. I just am curious. If if were to be done with #43, loving my Jerry Donahue at 7.8K, I'd get this La Brea right away.

Since the neck is 7.55k and the bridge is described as round top, i'd say 42 awg. I use a custom made bridge with 42awg and 7.4k and it is not that hot.
