  • Why does SD diagram use 250k pots for full size HB?

I'm wiring a 2 HB Tele, SH4/SH2. Why does the SD diagram for 1 volume, 1 tone, 2 HB, use 250k pots, while any other SD diagram for 2 HB uses 500k pots?

Because telecasters would have that configuration already, assuming you were just swapping the pickups. The JB/Jazz were originally intended to work with a stock Tele setup - Seymour’s TeleGib. Most of these drawings began life originally as paper inserts shipped in the specific pickup boxes and showed the ‘common’ installation for those pickups.
