I had the CR in the neck position originally, but I prefer it in the mid position. Of course, one of the reasons I changed it was because the HR in the mid sounded too much like the HR in the bridge. Moving it to the neck and the CR to mid gave more tonal variety.

I don't know if I'd say one is better than the other, just different. Cool rails has more bite and sustain, but it IS a smooth pickup, I do like how there's no volume dropoff with string bends too. The lil 59 is a great sounding pickup too, I really like it in the neck. Kind of a warm vintage vibe but it has high output. Robert said above it's a little higher output than the cool rails. The cool rails sound better split than the 59 though. It's really hard for me to describe the differences. Maybe I'll just post up some clips in the next few days.

That is pretty funny. I would definitely say that the dealer does not want to place a special order.

\m/(00)\m/ : it is most definately hotter.

think it's hotter? weird, I gotta go test it out again. I hope my 5-way switch isn't crapping out. Maybe it's the position they are in, cool rails sounds much hotter.

about the rails: I didn't think so, there really would be no point in changing them. I'm pretty happy with this setup so far so maybe later I'll switch 'em around and see what happens.

"I don't like the hotrails in any position except the neck." Crap that was a mistake, I fixed it, I meant bridge. I don't like the hot rails in any position except the bridge.

I have yet to try it in the neck but I bet it's smokin
thanks, that was pretty helpful. is the cool rails hotter than the lil 59?
