I have a custom in the bridge of my Ibanez Musician, it's not that powerful. The PRS HFS blows it away and has a ton more character IMHO. I've read on this forum that the custom is supposed to be pretty hot, am I missing something here? I'm not knocking the custom, it just doesn't seem to be living up to it's reputation.

Re: Custom question
i currently have the Custom in my Ibanez RG321MH.
similarly, my expectations was that it's an all-out humbucker that might out-perform the Duncan Distortion which i really fancy, but it turned out that the Custom was a rather scooped sounding pickup but it definitely hold its own. it isn't too far fecthed to say that the Custom is a boosted '59... i like it nevertheless.Psychic Horns

The Custom sounds alot like a 59, but beefed up...how does the HFS blow it away? What does it do or not that you like or don't like? Also...did you try both pickups in the same guitar? If you just read a post by The Guy Who Invented Fire please understand that opinions change, mind sets change and as players our ears mature...not to mention our needs grow and change. With that in mind, today I may or may not agree with the post you just read!
