i just purchased a gibson les paul double cutaway special with the p-90 pickups in it and wondering what are my options for pickups. I have always been i humbucker man my sg has 59's in it. I want a really vintage style tone out it. suggest anything you know of. Pros and cons or them. I have absolutly no experience with these pickups. So i appreciate the information very much.

Re: Soapbar P-90 options
I got a Vintage set for the double cut Warmoth carved LPS project I'm doing.
sorry, though, I haven't tried 'em yet
I think those and the Antiquities are in the vintage territory. The Custom and Hot set in my Hamer GoldTop are more "bad to the bone" tone."music heals"

Re: Soapbar P-90 options
Well the Ant's are really close to original P90's couldn't ask for much better if that's what you want.
If the cost of the Ant's chases you away the Vintage P-90-1 are excellent pickups.
What don't you like about the Gibson P-90's?My Bands -
