  • how does this sound in a strat?

    hey!

im looking into getting a strat soon(probably a mexican strat in 3 tone sunburst ) and i'd be using this for malmsteen type stuff. stuff like far beyond the sun and such.
i'd most likey be trying out the hs-3 for bridge and YJM for neck and middle just like he does.
so, without further adue(sp?).... does anyone have experience with them?
i want to know how the tone is, how good the YJM is at doing those nice , smooth, shred leads.

    thanks

I've used the YJM's and HS-3's ( a YJM is just an HS-3 with staggered poles ). They're ok, but I'm not knocked out by em.

I have found that for me, the best way to get a classic Strat sound without sacrificing output or hum-cancelling, is to use a twin-blade pickup. I have Joe Barden Deluxe Strat pickups in my Strat, and I love 'em!
