I emailed the original seller, and told them that it wasn't an SD. They seemed glad to know, and were just going by what their friend told them. I also invited them to join this forum.
We'll see what happens.

Regarding the Seth Lover...that is a genuine pickup. Fender hired Seth Lover for a brief period in the 70's in an attempt to compete in the humbucking guitar field. He couldn't produce a six adjustable pole piece HB since Gibson still held the patent, so he did the 3/3 covered pole piece config.
I would love to have one of those....they seem fairly rare.

Seth Lover joined the Fender Company in 1967. He took into account Fender's inclination to a brighter sound by keeping a little more brilliance in the Fender pickup's tone than there was in the Gibson.
The patent had not quite run out, so Mr. Lover designed for Fender a pickup that looked slightly different - it has staggered sets of three poles visable on the cover, as opposed to the straight line of six poles seen on a gibson cover.
