Nope . . . you'ld actually have a hard time finding something that wasn't copper wire.

I ordered 5' of four-conductor wire at guitarelectronics.com. It worked too.

Does the purity of the copper make a differance to the signal or tone or not. Hi-Fi buffs will spend loads of dosh and of course Guitarists on there leads to the amp but what about the small bits of wire inside your guitar can you hear it ?
This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

I'd suggest getting 20 or 22 guage stranded hook up wire, rather than stuff made for wiring homes ...

try seeing what Lew and BlackRose have

try a music store, they might have some. if there isn't one close to you try radioshack or some place that similar

Radio Shack is fine, just make sure to get the stranded versus the solid.

got it but why shouldn't you use solid?

Or Radio Shack ... they sell a three pack of black, red, and green hook up wire ... it's stainless steel stranded ... pretty descent. Insulation is a bit heat sensitive if you get heavy handed with the iron though, tin your ends.

look I have a guitar wired with solid (rather heavy diameter copper wire), works great ...BUT ... it's not flexiable ... that's the main draw back, also the stainless stuff resists oxidation a bit better ... go for you to know on both counts if you go replacing parts or resoldering.

Radio Shack also sells a little kit with wire cut to a bunch of different lengths, tinned, with the ends bent at right angles. Really handy!

That sounds like a breadboard kit, he might have better luck with just the hook up wire, and a wire stripper though, but it's a thought.
