Is there such thing as magnet quality?
I just recovered 2 Alnico V magnets from old Epiphone pickups. This actually means I could transform my Custom into a C-5, which I briefly tried (with a DiMarzio magnet I sold) but my guitar had many issues at the time.
If these magnets are cheaper, will I get a sub-par C-5, or all magnets are equal and it will give me a C-5 like a brand new?
I know A-II, A-V and ceramic are different, but I mean, do all magnets of the same size have the same strenght within a particular type or can a cheaper one be weaker or something?
