  • What kind of wiring is this?

    Hi,

My 2013 Gibson SG is wired this way (link to diagram):

    https://www.seymourduncan.com/images...H_3G_2V_2T.jpg

I've never seen this listed in diagrams anywhere but on SD site.

Is it Modern or 50's? Maybe something else?

    Thanks,
    T.

That's totally conventional LP/SG 2V/2T wiring. Many times, on Gibsons and others, you'll see the cap used as the connection between the vol & tone, but it's electrically, (and tonally), the same.
One form of 50's wiring would swap the left and middle connections on the volume controls.

    And welcome to the forum.

Yes, that's pretty conventional...called "modern tone, dependent volumes".

I think that last one belongs in the "Post a Random Thought" thread.

^ Either that, or not even posted here at all. It's not at all related to music of any kind.

Besides, who would solder on an exhaust? Try welding, it stands up to the heat better.
