Hey!
I'm just wondering what the magnet orientation should be for a pickup like the 500T, which features a large center ceramic magnet, as well as two ceramic, magnetic spacers for additional kick.
I magnet swap compulsively, and tried putting in A5 spacers. The drop in output was significant, which is understandable given the lower strength of an A5, but it seemed like a bit tooo much of a drop. From my understanding of it, in the case of the humbuckers of this design, all magnets are supposed to be oriented the same direction, so they would actually be repelling / slightly degaussing each other over time. Am I right about that?
This magnet orientation is slightly different than in a P90, wherein you have the same pole of the bar magnet touching (e.g., south) touching the pole pieces, so the two magnets are actually repelling one another. Am I right about this?
Thank you!__PRESENT
