  • SD STK-S2N broken, wire and winding specs?

    Hello again,

I was stupid enough to get myself screwed over: found an inexpensive Hot Stack STK-S2N while on business travel.
Back home I figured out that the cover had been tempered with and - lo and behold - it got no DCR reading anywhere.
Closer inspection showed that there is only one single spool end connected to the solder points, the other three are nowhere to be found.

It would be way too much hassle to get back to the seller, so I might try my first ever rewind.
Can't get much worse, maybe I'll get some sort of winding experience/education from it. Or maybe I'll just see that pickup winding isn't for me

Anyway, can anyone help me with the specs?
What gauge should I use and how many turns?
Or should I just play by ear?

i cant tell you what wire they use or how many turns, duncan doesnt publish that sort of data. i could guess and say #43 wire and as many turns as it takes to almost fill the bobbin

      Thanks for the reply!

I guess I'll just have to try and see.

If you mess it up, SD does offer rewinding services.
