If you like the phase sound, I say go for it. A pot is cheap, so experiment. I am not really a fan of a phase switch, but some really like it.

So coil splitting the neck turned out to be somewhat underwhelming.

I used the push pull to split the bridge humbucker instead. I wired it push single coil, pull full humbucker, which I suppose might considered ass about face, but the idea is to get closer to traditional single coil Tele most of the time, pull for the loud bits.

Much better.
