When were Hot Rails / Cool Rails first developed?

I found the page on the Internet Archives. The timeline is interactive and doesn't seem to work in all browsers. I'll try to grab some screen shots for the future.

The Rail Pickups were introduced in 1987.

Edit: The Rail Pickups were redesigned in 2005.

P.S. You were right about the browsers. It didn't work in Opera or Chrome. It did work in FireFox.

Joe Barden did the rail pickups first. Then Duncan copied with the Hot Rails.

The earliest I've seen is an ad from a guitar magazine in 1987:




It appears in the 1988 catalog, but not the 1981 version, so definitely somewhere between.
