    hi, what cap works better with these pickups .022 or 47?the body wood is basswood if that matters maple neck

    I like 47, but some say it is too dark. I don't believe that, though. It is a traditional Fender value. and to me, works great with any single coils. In the end, caps are super cheap, so it is worth it to experiment.

      Get a .047, .033, .022 and try them all...

          The nice thing about a Tele is that it's super simple to try other caps. Just "tack" solder the cap in, then with two screws, you can try another 'til you find what suits you.

                Some of the Bill Lawrence-designed Gibson pickups were sealed with black epoxy that looks like asphalt tar.
                They're often referred to as tarbacks.

                Wasn't serious - just a bad pun, La Brea being the location of the famous tar pits.
