  • Are these Duncan’s?

I bought these off of Reverb and the seller is claiming they are early SD’s (JB/Jazz) out of an old Kramer. The back plate looks nothing like any Duncan’s that I’ve ever seen.

Nope, cheap Chinese pickups. Nothing old about them at all. Likely made in the same factory as some of the Guitar Madness pickups (on eBay) judging by the baseplates and tapered pole pieces.

Thanks guys! I thought they were fakes as well but want to double check here. The seller has 300+ positive feedbacks so I took a chance on them (without seeing the back plate). He has offered to refund my money

These days you can't be too careful. Lotsa fakes out there lately for some reason.

              What's wrong with the baseplates?
