  • 59N in the birdge pos ?

    Super quick question.

Has anyone used the 59N [neck] in their bridge position in the past ?
If so, how does it sound ? And how did it compare to the 59B in the bridge position ?

    Thanks to all.

i did for a brief moment.
it’s a lot brighter and more open, like you would expect.
if you try it, make sure you have a tone pot wired

MMmmm, thanks. Not sure i will like that then.

I like the open'ness, but i am not looking for a brighter pick up, especially not in the bridge pos.

Why not go for it, I don't see why you can't tone down the brightness with cap and tone pot values.

its bright, it works with vintage output singles with 250k pots well though

Allan used a special double screw 59n in the bridge. The lower output has more string sensitivity, too.

I use the 59N as a bridge a lot. It's a poor man's T-Top and makes a great poor man's Jimmy Page set with a Seth in the neck.

So do you mount it like you would normally or rotate it 180?

I rotated it so the screws faced the bridge.
