  • Wires came off of STK S1N. Help rewiring please!

Hey all! I have an STK S1N and all of the wiring frayed off at the base of the pickup. I can solder it myself but I’m not sure where the ground wire goes. Can anyone help with that? If you’re looking at the pickup head on, I know it goes (left to right) Red, White, Black and then Green. But what about ground??

well, i just happen to have a stks1b handy. youre correct, red, white, black, green. the bare doesnt seem to be connected to anything. my guess is they just used their normal 4cond+shield humbucker wire but since there isnt a metal baseplate or cover, just left it floating on the pup side

Hmmm wouldn’t the pickup need to be grounded though?

the pup is grounded through whatever coil wire gets grounded. the bare ground wire on a humbucker is for the cover and baseplate. on a paf where there is only a hot wire and shield, the coil ground and plate/cover ground are connected.
