  • Installed Black Winter in Beretta Special

Just installed the Black Winter in one of my Kramer Beretta Specials. I have a JB and Custom in the others. I have the Black Winter in a basswood LTD MH, too, which it does sound pretty amazing. But after putting it in a mahogany body I like it even more now. Perfect in mahogany. Having a single volume only with no tone with the Black Winter is different. Right around 7 is where I have been enjoying it the most in this guitar. Cleans up nicely around 3. When you turn the volume all the way up it acts as a boost and becomes a different animal. Just amazing. I love the Black Winter.

The Black Winter is one MVP modern pickup. It tends to sound great at all gain ranges unlike a lot of hot pickups.

That's a good way to make use of the volume knob. I do the same sometimes with those ceramic-based scorchers.

Sounds like the right application for the BW. One of my top faves.

Never go by just the name. Plug it in and go by the sound. You'll get a lot more mileage than you would have thought possible.
