  • Help identify old Seymour Duncan pickups!

Bought an old 1968 Stratocaster . Has these Seymour Duncan pickups installed. Does anyone know what are these pickups ? Are these blackouts ? I googled and found out that SDuncan started making blackouts only from 2008! Please help! Thanx !

    Those are 18v Original Livewires.

Yes, the previous reowner replaced the original neck with the Warmoth neck in early 1980s. Very nice neck indeed!

They are great sounding pickups. There's a classic version with lower output for bridge/middle/neck and there's a custom version for bridge. They are much more powerful than EMGs but they are a bit noisier too. The only downside is finding room for two 9v batteries. However, you can power them with a phantom power box fairly easy so you don't have to worry about battery changes or space issues.

Im in the same boat trying to id this pickup. It was installed into my 78 Strat back in the 80's. It is a 4 conductor wire with red/white hooked up to a toggle to go single or hum
