  • Pickup buzzes when I touch the baseplate and/or the mounting screws?

Does this mean something is wrong with my wiring or the pickup itself?

Because the wiring is the Gibson Quick Connect stuff. I just had to splice the pickup leads up with the little quick connect plug to get it work. But maybe I did something wrong?

It's just on the bridge pickup too. The neck pickup is fine.

sounds like the ground might be switched with the hot?

Wouldn't that mean my middle position would be out of phase? It currently isn't.

Alright, so I reversed the hot and ground, and now the buzz is gone, but the middle position is out of phase, LOL.

Which pickups do you have? Maybe you need a magnet flip.

Swap the red & green wire on the evo neck, that should fix the out of phase issue if there is one.

Would flipping the Evo neck around by 180° flip the mag polarity as well or is it essential to flip the mag in one of the pickups?

no. flipping the pup itself wont do anything to the polarity. you need to flip the magnet itself within the pup

What wires do the pickups have? 4-conductor plus shield?

Then the shield gets put on a hot wire somewhere.
