  • Out of phase P90s?

So one of my thinline Teles has a set of SD Antiquity P90s. The map reading compass tests suggests the bridge is a "south" and the neck is a "north", so I guess they're a RWRP set.

OTOH my Epi SG Special, with its original Epi P90s, has two "souths". I'm half inclined to RWRP one of them, but thought just turning the magnets around for an out of phase in P2 might be good. If not, I can always "RW"them to go with the "RP", but what say you lot?

I like out of phase with p90s but absolutely love out of phase, in series. It's best to hear in the mix but even bright chimmey p90s can really cut.

i dont usually care for out of phase tones unless you have volume controls for each pup. with both full up, the tone is very thin. but by varying the volumes of the two, there are tons of great tones available. i prefer to have it switchable from in phase to oop, but if youve never played with oop and have a typical gibson control setup, then its worth playing around with
