  • BG1400 Alternatives

    Hi,

Which pickups can be considered as alternatives to BG1400 pickup, especially noiseless?

I'm looking at DiMarzio Area Hot T. It's being advertised as Tele/P90/PAF hybrid, and BG1400 is often being described as Tele pickup with P90 growl.

the gilly is a bit brighter than the bg1400, though i havent a/b'd them at the same time. definitely some similarities though.

what are you trying to get from your tele bridge pup? my favorite tele bridge pup is the tapped '53 jb esquire pup from the custom shop, but thats my taste and not noiseless.

Actually, I'm thinking of purchasing the BG1400, but prior to it I'd like to know which other pickups sound more or less alike it.

And yeah - I'm a big fan of 53 Tapped model as well.

if you like the full output sound of the 53 esquire pup, i think youll like the bg1400 its a bit meatier, it is a humbucker after all, but still responds like a good tele bridge pup. though, ive been temped to get a gilly of my own
