  • Duncan STK-S#'s?

I think I've asked this before. This time I promise to log it somewhere where I won't lose it.

The STK-S4 is the Classic Stack Plus @ 8.5k.
The STK-S6 is the Custom Stack Plus @ 14.5k.
I think the YJM Fury is the STK-S10 @ 25.5/25.7k.

But the Vintage Hot Stack Plus @ 11.9k and the Hot Stack Plus @ 20.3k don't list their STK #'s.

I think the former is the STK-S7, and the latter is the STK-S9. Is that correct?
    All are A5 mags.

P.S. I sure would like to Duncan make that nice PDF document with all pickups and specs listed, like they used to have.

Duh! I don't know why I didn't think to "google" this. Yes, the STK-S7 is the Vintage Hot Stack Plus, and the STK-S9 is the Hot Stack Plus.

    I've logged it.

The KHz is the resonant peak.

Nice charts. I didn't know there was an STK-S2. Thanks Beau.

              Funny . . . the webpage lists the S4 as 8.5k.

The S2 is this one: https://www.seymourduncan.com/single...ot-stack-strat
But it looks like my tables are old. The current web site shows higher DCRs now. I think they are still fair for comparing relatively, but I need to update the numbers. It's a pain.

Yeah . . . I've seen that pup. I just didn't realize it had the STK model number. Good info.

DCR versus resonant peak of the YJM is a great example of DCR being meaningless without context.

I get confused having 2 names for almost every pickup. I find myself using the common names rather than the numbers most of the time. I always have to look the numbers up.

For whatever reason, I know humbuckers by their names better, but I know single coils better by their model number. Go figure.

Weird . . . if I'm reading that chart right, the YJM Fury and Hot Stack are brighter than the Stack Plus? I'd have figured the Stack Plus would be the brighter one as it's supposed to sound vintage.
