  • INFO PLEASE TB-2N humbucker

Can anyone provide insight on this pickup? TB-2N 20101124 12455 7.98 ohms. I cannot find a part reference anywhere

I assume it was mfg in 2010. F spaced

It was on a used SG that I purchased in the neck position, I found that odd.

I was told it is a Trembucker made with a lower resistance

Any info would be great. I will be listing this on Reverb soon, thus I have no idea dollar value either.

It reads like it's just a '59 neck model on a Trembucker plate with gold poles. Trembucker plate is not a Shop Floor Custom option, so either someone ordered it from the Custom Shop or it came out of a production guitar as an OEM pickup (possibly from a Charvel?), though I think the sticker might be different if it was an OEM model? I assume in the SG the strings didn't line up with the poles in the neck?

strings did not line up.. the bridge had a gold black TB-6, which I installed in my Blacktop Jaguar (sounds great) . I believe that had similar stickers on it.

TB-2 seems to suggest it's a Jazz, though.

Yeah, seems to be some sort of custom floor or custom shop even order for a Jazz Neck with Trembucker spacing.

Yeah, something like a OEM. This guitar must have a huge string spacing on the neck position, maybe a 24 fretter.
Would make a great T-Top clone for a strat like guitar.

Used value would be around $60 USD.

id assume a wide spaced jazz neck. i have a buddy who likes 1.75" nut width and he gets trem spaced pups for both positions

That's a weird one for sure! I would think OEM models would have OEM-specific stickers, though.

Sounds to me like someone could have ordered it instead of a jazz bridge to put in a hss strat (for example) to match low output singles and then later moved them to the SG.

I dunno. If it was ordered to be installed in the bridge position, I would think whoever ordered it would've wanted the logo printed on the other bobbin.

right, i think this was meant to be a neck pup with wide spacing
