  • 1 Hot Stack Plus (Neck) 2 Stack - can't get tone pots to work

I have a Hot Stack Plus (STK-S9B) in the bridge and two stacks (STK-S2N) in middle and neck, with a 5-way blade. I followed the diagram for the two Stacks, and separately, for the Stack Plus, since I couldn't find a diagram with this combination. Each individual pickup is wired correctly, but neither of the tone pots are working. My question is - does the combination, vs all three of the same, change the wiring requirements for all three? Or should it work as is, following the diagram for the one Hot Stack, and then the separate diagram for the two Stacks? Hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance

I assume we're talking about a Stratocaster. Bear in mind, that traditional Strat wiring doesn't have a tone control for the bridge pickup.

Do you have no tone control in any position?

A pic of your wiring might help.

The most common mistake is to forget about the ground. Did you wire a ground path over the pots?

are the tone pots grounded? i see a wire connecting the two tone pot cases, but i dont see a wire connecting them to ground, typically the volume pot casing

I noticed that too. They should ground through the aluminum foil shield, but that's not reliable. I'd put a ground between the tone pots and volume pot.

Also, the left-hand side of the cap and tone pots ground, are awful close to each other. Make sure they aren't touching.
