    Rock on, Charvel!

Your problem could be one of a few things... first of all, did you ever push your amp too hard? If it's anything under 50 watts, you might've blown the speaker so it would be distorted. Second, I've never tried them, but I heard that because LiveWire heavy metals are meant for hard distortion, and their cleans are non-existant. Have you extracted cleans from that guitar before?

You won't get a clean tone with the Live Wire HM. They are made for hair raising, nut splitting high gain and that's what you get. Check out the "clean" sound clips on the SD website.

they wont ever get a clean sound, and they distort any amp they are plugged into and not in a good way.

their clean sound is kind of like the dirty sound of a single coil lol .. ther is no clean in those pups (maybe if you tried playing with the neck humbucker)

if you dont like em, you can send em to me and i'll send you my JB and '59n i'll even pay for postage

nonetheless Charvel looks like you're stuck with pups that can't cleans.

they dont do cleans, but if you do want a clean sound you can get the live wire classics for neck or something or just get passive pickups for that guitar.

I forget the exact value, but I believe you can use a resistor inline to lower the output of those pickups. You might have to call the SD factory for a couple of options.

The HMLW pickups have huge output, plain and simple.
