  • Phat Cats in Epi Dot 335 or similar?

I'm thinking of dropping some Phat Cats into my Epiphone Dot 335 - I'm a huge fan of bands that use Epi Casinos, as well as The Strokes (Epi Riviera with P-94's), and I'd love to emulate that tone. I'm also looking for versatility, and I understand that the P-90's offere a bit more than HB's.

Anyone out there tried this, or similar? Haven't seen many reviews of the Phat Cats in semi-hollows, so I'm trying to get informed before I purchase.

    Cheers!

I haven't heard or tried it but I would think this would be a great combo. Sorry I don't have more definitive info ...

I dig the Strokes tones...saw them live here as stood right in front of Valensi and his Epi. Those P94's sound killer, I'd assume the SD version would be just as good. My son is saving his money (yeah right..) to get those pups for his 335 copy.

Gibson KS 336, LP Standard, Special and Customs
Bogner, Orange, Tech 21 and Fender amps
      Celestion speakers
Duncan, Bare Knuckle, WCR and Gibson pups
      Too many pedals....

I agree with John. The Phat Cats should be killer sounding in that guitar.
