    Re: Pickup Help!

I bought my Antiquity Texas Hots from Lew and I'm waiting on a Fralin Steel Pole Hot pickup for another one of my strats that has a Floyd Rose bridge...You can either wait on me to offer you my tonal eval or you can ask Lew about it...Just like you,I'm trying to get something in my bridge position to get some balls down there...I'm pulling a JB Jr out and putting the Fralin in it's place...

The Highway 1 strat pickups are pretty decent pickups..Are you basically wanting to retain the vintage or stock strat tones in your middle and neck positions but add some balls to the bridge? The problem with side by side humbuckers is that you totally lose the whole bridge position vibe of what your strat should sound like...For me so far...The best bridge position single coil I've used is the Antiquity texas hot for bridge...It has the best marriage of true single coil tone but it's ballsy and not so toppy that I can still get great lead tones without having to go the humbucker route...If you want humbucker tones in a side by side Duncan, the Lil 59 is a great pickup, but it's split tones are very weak...
