  • Removing potting wax?

Since you guys experiment with pickups all the time here, has anyone ever removed the potting wax from a bucker?
I bet there is some solvent that will remove the wax but not eat the bobbin or wire enamel......

well, i just get a card from a deck and scrape it off that way, it's not too hard, and i'm far too lazy to find something to do it for me... so in a way, i'm too lazy to be lazy... anyway... BUMP

The last time I did that, was to salvage a dead single coil pup for the wire itself ... 12" x12" peice of cardboard, and a hair dryer ... no solvent needed.
