  • Help with pickup choice

    Ok....
Custom Guitar Korina topped with carved walnut, neck is korina/walnut, ebony fingerboard. Wilkinson trem, roller nut, locking tuners, 1 vol, 1 tone, onboard variable gain.

    I want to go HSH
(my thoughts are under the sound desired)
neck:Clean, Crisp, Vintage sounding jazzy bucker...for the bluesy/jazzy stuff
    --pearly gates, 59, jazz
Mid: Stratty pickup with a bit of twanginess....for the classic rock
    --twangbanger
bridge:Hot bucker, with strong harmonics, heavier sounding, higher output
    ...for the metal
--invader, custom custom, screamin demon, full shred

The object is to get the most differentiation between pickups. So what do you reccomend to fill these positions. Which of these (or any other pup) would fit the described tones best?

    Thanks

Edit: didnt pay attention and wrote bridge/neck backwards

    Re: Help with pickup choice

hmm, ok firstly for the neck you dont want a humbucker that will overpower the bridge one. you will get a great imbalance of output.
ok for bridge i recommend the JB and for neck the Jazz.
The JB has power and has versitility. plus its called Jazzy Blusey so its what u're loooking for.
The Jazz is an articulate pup that sounds great clean and under gain. and well its a jazz pup.
as for the single coil in the middle, i dont know too much about duncan single coils so hopefully someone comes along with some advice on that.
