  • is a permanent ciol tap possible?

    hey, i have a strat with one humbucker and two single coils.....
    is there any wire or something i can cut they will make the humbucker a single coil..permanently?

    assuming its a seymour duncan pickup, just solder the white and red wires to the ground, it'll make the humbucker split. it's permanent as long as it's soldered, if you unsolder it, you can make it a normal humbucker again

      Or, to put it another way, if you want to use only the adjustable-pole single-coil,
      use green as hot, and red as ground.

      If you want to use the stud-coil as the single, use black for hot, and white for ground.

      Green = beginning of adjustable coil
      Red = finish of adjustable coil

      Black = beginning of stud coil
      White = finish of stud coil
