  • APR 87 Lynch says he was using a Duncan hybrid of a DD and JB

This would sound nothing like the Screamin' Demon later designed for him. What was this pickup? This was out of the Guitar for practicing musician from April 1987 I was looking for an unrelated article and came across that.

    Interesting huh?

Maybe he was using a DD with an A5 magnet. I heard that he used both a JB and DD during that time period. From what I understand, the DD A5 would be the perfect blend of the two pickups, but I haven't personally tried it (yet).

In another late 80's interview (with Guitar World I believe) George Lynch says he was using a Pearly Gates as well as a Custom. He's been all over the map. hehehe

I think Lynch is the kind of guy who would use anything and everything. (I don't mean that in a bad way.) All of his gear seems to be all over the place.

I think he just constantly experiments...seems to gravitate toward the JB though...
