I have one too, and specwise I think it's similar to the Dimebucker. I was once told by a forummer the Dimebucker was similar to my L500XL, it was some kind of Dimebag Darrel sound topic, you might be able to find it (though I'm not sure whether it was on this board or the previous one, sorry!)

dime used to use bills pups, the l500xl, which i used to use as well. a cool pup with a strong top end and tight bottom. then dime used a custom lawrence pup called the xxl500 or something like that. now he uses the dimebucker which looks similar to bills buckers but is quite different.

          Re: Bill Lawrence Sound

For the record, Dime first used a Bill Lawrence XXL-500, and then had Seymour Duncan make him a special pickup that turned out to be (surprise surprise) the Dimebucker!

            Re: Bill Lawrence Sound

IGUESS the dimebucker is a Hotter BILL LAWRENCE L500 XL pickup, with more Bass, more Agressive OUTPUT/Punch and MORE stragith/cutting through Mids and highs... a more CCISH like Mids and highs.

If your going to get a pickup that sounds like the L-500XL, you mine as well get it from them man. Its cheaper, and who cares if its not a Duncan? I dont, im just saying, there are plenty of other excellent pickups manufacturers that will get a good tone, if not better. IMO.
