Standard one conductor sheilded (two conductor to some) pickups are not the best candidates for a phase switch. The reason is that the sheilding braid is the finish lead ground as well as the baseplate ground. When you change the phase electrically on a single conductor pickup you also make the baseplate hot, which can add alot of unwanted noise.

What you'll need to do is to disconnect the braid from the guitar and solder a wire to the sheilding braid and use that wire to connect to the phase switch. Unfortunately, when you use the phase switch and the braid becomes hot you run the risk of shorting the now hot braid with anything else in the control cavity that is grounded.

It's most advisable to use a 4 conductor pickup for electrical phasing. You can flip the magnet in one conductor pickups, but that won't be switchable.

Dude, ya gotta have 4 conductor for that. You can change your pickup from a two conductor to a 4 conductor, but you will void the warrenty, but you get what you want. By the way, welcome to the forum bro.
