  • Can i swap magnets between these pickups?....

Ive already got a trem spaced JB (TB-4) and was thinking about getting a CC for my les paul, normal spacing. Will i be able to swap the magnets between these pickups if i feel like experimenting or will the different spacings of the pickups mean different sized and hence incompatible magnets?

you should, I dont think the mag's will hang out too much, if at all.

I would expect the only thing that's different about the two types of pickups is the pole spacing. So you shouldn't have any trouble with the magnets.

Wouldn't think so. If you look at the two pickups side by side (a standard and a trem-spaced) you probably won't notice any difference, or at the very most, a really minor difference in size. So the magnets should be cool.

No, magnet size is the same for both standard and trembucker spaced pickups. The length of the magnet is such that it's long enough to work with both.

                What he said.

And as far as I know the only short magnets used come in some of gibson's pat # pickups.
