  • FSOT: Bogner Alchemist 40w/20w Head w/ 212 cab - Atlanta area only

    Hi folks -

Long time no see! Been busy with home renovations.

I'm putting my Bogner Alchemist half-stack up for sale/trade. Cosmetically, it's in good condition. Functionally, it's biased & loaded with KT88s (doublechecked - Gold Lion, professionally biased) in the power tubes, which work and sound great, but there is an intermittent issue with the built-in reverb/delay circuit - no big deal if you're running reverb/delay in pedals. The 212 cab is all original, bought used. I don't think it's ever been pushed hard (I know I haven't). I do have the foot pedal, too, and somewhere around here I've got the manual I printed out.

Cash, trade, or any combination of the two. Make me an offer.

How does it sound with KT88s? The Alchemist is much more in the Fender vein, so I'm curious how they influence the sound. From experience, that amp is naturally very bassy, so I'm sure they cleaned up the bottom-end and gave it a bit more clarity. I've never seen someone put KT88s in that amp before, so it's really interesting.
