Here is one of James hetfields early prototype sets of the hetset. Obviously James hetset is a modified version of the 81 60 set . This set is unique because it is the only emg active set to have adjustable pole pieces unlike the final version which has steel poles. I purchased these from someone who works with the band and I also emailed emg to confirm that they are legit and they confirmed they where for an artist but couldn t tell me which one. Also if you go to EMGs website and read the description of the hetset it says James contacted them in early 09 , these pickups are dated december 4 2009 so the time line adds up. Compared to the standard emg 81 60 these are lower in output with more bottom end and something different in the midrange. Very cool and unique I loved the tone of the final hetset but they were just to hot.Very cool lots of mojo!
