I have a Blue box (no, it's not for sale) and I used to have a Buzz Box...the Buzz Box is cool and novel, but the Blue Box sounds much better and much more Melvins!

BTW...you HAVE to use the Blue Box AND a rat at the same time...

          Slade,

John has now shown you what a RAT is, but just so you know...Buzz has used a rat for ALL his distortion since before recording "6 Songs" and all the way up until today...the Blue box was really only used on Eggnog, and he used it with the RAT...

Re: Wanted- MXR bluebox or DOD Buzzbox

good stuff thanks... I thought I could pick out the bluebox in a lot of their later noisy stuff too... A few songs come to mind but I can't pick them out right now...

To tell you the truth I'm basically new to pedals... I usually just go straight into the amp and used effects infrequently enough that the built in ones on my vox sufficed. I'm getting addicted to weird sounds though now... specially flange. Just tryin to experiment around

            thanks

Re: Wanted- MXR bluebox or DOD Buzzbox

I'll tell you this...a Blue Box is not gonna sound how you thing it's gonna sound. It has NO sustain and won't do the long held drowny notes that hold into feedback....that's what the RAT is for.

No matter which records your listening to, Buzz is using a RAT, a BLack LP Custom, a SS Sunn beta lead or Beta bass, and a HiWatt cab...
