  • 1983 GIBSON FLYING V

    For your consideration...

I have a 1983 Gibson Flying V. This guitar is all original (original bridge in case) with untouched solder joints. The plastic is still on the back plate!! This guitar was Alpine White when it was new. It has aged into a milky yellow...kinda like TV Yellow.

The electronics are all original. Shaw Dirtyfingers sound incredible. Factory 3-way toggle with a V/V/T configuration.

I installed a Pinnacle locking bridge on it. The factory bridge is a rare 3-position bridge that Gibson used for a very short time (its included and in the case)

This V shows weather checking all over the body and neck. There are NO cracks, NO breaks. There is some finish missing from the edges of the headstock, more than likely due to a reaction to a non-nitro safe guitar hanger.

The neck is a 60s carve. Truss rod works perfectly. It has a beautiful, dark rosewood board with really nicely figured pearl dots. Original frets, no divots, kind of low, very common for this era. Original Gibson tuners.

It has a fresh setup with 10s. Plays and sounds awesome!!! Very lightweight too! A very tonefully rich guitar!!!

    Original Gibson case also included.

    $3175 plus shipping....NO TRADES PLEASE

    Thanks for looking!!!

love the checking on that one

how many guitars do you own and how many do you think have passed through your hands over the years? and are there any that you will never sell?

seems like you have an endless supply of goodies which I am super impressed by and jealous

A lot of Mojo in this one! I do not own a V. ...and I am working on my taxes. ...need to see how they turn out. I may stop back, if it does not sell before I have numbers. All those you have posted lately are moving quick!
