What I've always been told is the conventional wisdom for metal is although most people go for black nylon straps, you want a nice heavy leather strap (still black) to provide some solid bass but with chrome studs to really bring back that high end bite. You will never understand How it feels to live your life With no meaning or control And with nowhere left to go You are amazed that they exist And they burn so bright
Whilst you can only wonder why

I've gotten away from the bite of nylon as I've gotten older. Maybe my ears changed but the sizzle just makes it sound thin, and I wind up compensating with heavier and heavier boots. I have to echo the love for a black leather strap. I've installed the same one on several guitars and I can confirm it works great with every tonewood.Take it to the limit
Everybody to the limit
