Been thinking about making a cholla cactus strap for when I play self flagelating Mexican death metal.

Just use rusty barbed wire. Cholla won't hold together.

Good point, I have to incorporate the cholla somewhere though. . . Maybe a crown

            You can't be serious...

Cholla adds waaaaaay to much midrange

You have to scoop that $#!T out if you want to play the metalzzzzz

Solspirit's crown idea might work though. Can't say I've tried it.

I'm sure that it would work fine. Cholla loves to stick to hair and flesh.

Maybe I could add a little prickly pear to tone Ìs down and bit of Russian thistle to bring out the highs?

I am doing research, to find the optimum "tone material" for straps.

We are getting great upper-mid chime and presence from a substance made from... hardened hemoroid cream and strips of recycleable toilet paper.

Don¨t know yet; what we are gong to call it

                      Try duct tape.

"Seriously" - I believe my tone has gotten better, after I got a real quality leather strap. :/

It makes playing sitting down, and standing up- much more comfortable; and then I am able to play and sound better .

                        /real party pooper, eh?

This is the only place where a strap plays into your tone. If you're comfortable, you play better.

If you feel like you are the coolest guy in the room because you have a awesome strap, you play better, too.

i think we are into something here lol
...also spending tons of money on one piece of gear, overlooking important and relatively inexpensive things like straplocks. I've almost dropped my Epi four times now. :o

Rather than straplocks, I prefer just using oversized strap buttons

They help me cut through the mix better
