    Guitar number 1: LTD F-50.

When I first went in to the guitar store I was looking in to getting a left handed guitar (being left handed and it seeming only logical). After telling the guy at the store that I was looking for that, he gave me a nice, 30 minute lecture about the guitar and how he thinks it is reversed and that I instead should get a right handed guitar. I honestly only got it to get him to shut up. Thinking back, that guy might be one of the most important people to ever grace my guitar playing life. Funny how that works. Anyway... I went with the LTD because it was cheap and looked cool. That and Dave Mustaine was on ESP guitars at the time... I figured emulating my hero was a good starting point. It was.

    Guitar 2: LTD F-100

I was on vacation in Florida and, as always, I wanted to check out the local music stores to see if they had anything really cool (not that I really knew if anything was cool or not at that point). I walked in and walked around for a while. Tucked back in the corner was a used F-100 for $125 (half the price of my F-50) and I got my aunt to buy it for me. I found out later that it was so cheap because the wire to the output jack had come undone. 30 seconds with a soldering iron later and I had a mint condition F-100! I have since sold the guitar to a good friend.

Guitar 3: 1964 Gibson Hummingbird (A.K.A. Stroke of luck #1)

My parents pulled this out of my brother's room and gave it to me. He was using it (in its case, thank god!) to block his door from being opened. They inherited it from my great, great aunt who died when I was a kid. We really didn't know it was worth so much since none of us had looked at it or even thought about it for so long.

    Guitar 4: Yamaha acoustic

I bought it from a friend for $50. I needed a cheap acoustic to bang around. For the record, it's now completely trashed.

    Guitar 5: Traveler Speedster

I got it as a birthday present from my parents. I wanted a guitar that I could easily take to school. I took out all of the electronics and the side plates and I would take it to school every day in the inside pocket of my tea coat. I used it to practice in between classes.

    Guitar 6: LTD SC-207

The guitarist of the band I was singing for had a 7 string RG and I really liked the feel of the wider neck. I had been eying the 7 string version of the F style guitars, but I ended up getting this because it was new. It was my main guitar for quite some time until it was replaced by and Ibanez S. It was still used a lot until I had to sell it for rent money.

    Accordion:

I got it from my grandma when I was really getting in to folk metal. It has the word "SHARON" going down it on the front.

    Guitar 7: Ibanez S #1

I had been fascinated by floating bridges for quite some time and I began looking for a cheap guitar with one on craigslist. An angry ex-girlfriend was selling it for $80 so I snagged it. I used it for about two weeks before the trem arm snapped off in the guitar. It's been disassembled ever since.

Guitar 8: Ran Xplorer (A.K.A. Stroke of luck #2)

I won this guitar from a myspace contest that I entered and had long forgotten about by the time of the drawing. Luckily, I signed in to my long abandoned myspace the week of the drawing and found a message stating that I had won it. After I paid for the shipping, it arrived at my doorstep in it's case wrapped with bubble wrap and tape. It took me almost an hour and a half to get it out of it's bubbly protection. The guitar once belonged to Jeff Waters and was used on the Annihilator album "Metal".

    Guitar 9: Ibanez S #2

After spending some time at McNally Smith college of music, I needed to get it to give me a cheaper guitar to bring to school that would actually sound good. I bought it in a pawn store for $400. That guitar made me fall in love with the S and floating bridges.

    Guitar 10: Classical

I needed a classical guitar for class, so I bought a used Yamaha for $50.

    Guitar 11: Ibanez S5470 Prestige

At the time, this was my dream guitar. I saved up my money for months to be able to afford it. I got it and it was fantastic. It was my go to guitar for quite some time. I sent it off in September of 2009 to be painted and I didn't get it back until May of this year. In the time it was gone, I kind of fell detached to it. Even now, I have problems playing it.

    Guitar 12: Ibanez 108 S

It's a 1970's acoustic student guitar. I saw it in a local guitar store for $70 and decided, "Why not?" It's neck and frets need to be repaired, which I haven't gotten around to yet, but I suspect it will be a nice replacement for my beater Yamaha once I get it fixed.

    Guitar 13: SX Strat Copy

I got it for my birthday. I always wanted a strat, so I got a cheap one. Woo!
