  • Slide version of People get Ready

For anyone interested in dropped D slide, go to http://www.thatllteachyou.com/getready/

This was done through my DigiTechRP100, into an Alesis mixer, into my PC. It's in dropped D tuning, just the bass string down.

    All the best,

    Kirk

Oh man, that was sweet! Regular tuning except for the dropped D? I'm gonna showthis to a friend of mine who's starting to play slide and is undecided about open tunings vs standard.

    Cool

        Thanks guys.

        There's another here: http://www.thatllteachyou.com/lay/

Alvin Lee Fan, tell your friend: I started out playing open tunings, like everybody else, but I was always hoplessly lost unless I was playing the I, IV or V chords. I'd put many years into mapping out the fretbaord in standard, all my landmarks got smeared out, so I decided to try slide in standard. I never went back to open tunings. I've done a few lessons at my site which show how rich a slide environment a standard fretboard can be. here they are:

Great playing. Makes me want to pull out a slide and try it yet again. If the cats in your neighbourhood sound like they are all in heat it is just me
