  • New clip: total riff improvisation WITH DRUMS!

So, the guitar port update turned out to be one of the best things since sliced bread. it's got a metronome with drum sounds. while not the best thing in the universe, it's what i wanted. simple, loopy and to the point.

i just fooled around for a minute, then took one of the factory presets, personalised it and this is the outcome. 5 minutes 40 seconds of riffage. very groovy.

there are some timing mistakes, but it's a little bit hard to keep playing with one hand and change presets and add drums at the same time.. plus i tried out diferent sounds, but feel free to comment on the playing as i consider this to be me 'in the zone'

i'll do a complete backing track one of these days

the music page is in my sig, the file is named FUN. enjoy

Very very solid Davey. Can hear that Maiden influence but your very own tone.

As you said, timing mistakes, but not your fault.

      Keep rockin' out man!

        As always, nice tone Davey.

Your right hand technique has a similar sound in most clips I've heard.

Try and mix it up a bit to get away from that da dada da da dada sound.

          +1

Your tone is great but I also agree to try something new. But this file kicks ass.

Davey, your playing is getting better and better!

I only have 2 suggestions for you:
Make the clips shorter; they are easier to digest that way

Try limiting the number of riffs -- have one for "verse" another for "chorus" and then alternate. You can throw in an "intro" and "bridging" riff in there, too.

Aside from that, I love the Pong sound in the second drum pattern!
Why don't you take your little Cobra Kais and get outta here?!

but i like long clips.. but yea, 5 minutes+ is a tad long. with this one i really didnt look at the timer, i just played along hehe

hmmm, you know i could structure the clips better.. like having one riff for a verse and one for chorus.. maybe a bridge thrown in there and an intro

hehe, i put that one in so i knew when the bar is over cos no way in hell i'm counting that
