  • Rare Earth Guitar Remix

I overdubbed lead guitar to the old classic Rare Earth recording "Get Ready," and looped it out as it faded out at the end. What sounds like Hendrix style strumming at the very beginning and the very end, are actually layered harmonics. If you asked me to do it again, I've forgotten and probably could not duplicate it. The original recording that I've remixed had no lead guitar at all.
I am performing the lead guitar part and only the lead guitar part. That's all that has been added/changed to the original recording.
First link is MP3 and should download quick, the second is wav and will take longer.

The drums are way too loud and the guitar is a bit. The vocals and everything else sound like they're in the back of the room. Makes it all sound a bit tinny.
Pity because the idea is good.

Oh yea, I need to go to mixing school.
I posted it just to display how I added guitar to a recording that didn't have any.
And despite the obvious roughness of the mix, I like the guitar groove.

If anybody is so inclined, and has the Waves EQ emulation program (or similar), and wants to remix/remaster this recording, feel free to do so. I'd love to hear it.
