I'm trying to find some non-metal bands that tune to D standard? I've been tuning to D standard lately just to try something new to inspire me. I was tuned to open G and I really liked playing power chords with low strings tuned to D and G string.

Re: Non-Metal Bands that tune to D standard?
i dont have any recordings but i used to play in D std in a trio. added weight to the music and made it easier on the vocals. loved it all around. had a strat running 12-60 that sounded massive

Far from an all encompassing list, but it's a good place to start.Schecter ATX Blackjack C7 BKP Painkiller (B) and Abraxas (N)
Hagstrom Hj800 Jazzbox stock pickups
Fender Jazz Bass EMG MJ Set
Music Man SUB Ray5 stock pickups
Line 6 Helix
Dunlop Strings and Picks
The opinions expressed above are my own and do not reflect normal levels of sanity.

I think if there isn't a lot of people who do it, then it is a good time to start. Changing tunings like this (and doning things that aren't common) is how new musical forms are made. I say, go for it.Administrator of the SDUGF
