Took six attempts to get it there. That's not an easy track to play over indeed! Great practice.

EDIT: Just listened through other songs. Damn great stuff! Made me think I should have went for wettier sound too. Seems to fit in much better.
What gear were you using on the recording? I kind of like the basic cleanish tone you were getting . . . but yeah, a little 'verb or delay wouldn't have been out of place. :P

I'm not good, or even fair.
    I'm stubborn.

I need to get a recording system back together here. Have a nice laptop but really don't want to use it and my desktop is not reliable so will need to put something together when I get a stable set up in my music room. Have a M Box but what is a decent free or low cost user friendly PC program now?
Miss the days when I could get a wild hare and noodle with stuff. Have a bunch of crazy late night jam stuff running direct with my old Rockman Voo Doo valve like this from back when I had a ADAT set up but that been a while.
Would be nice to do stuff like this again solo at the house here running my old ADAT and a drum machine + the Rocktron.

You can DL audacity for free but you would need an interface to let the instruments “speak” to the program.
A basic 2 channel interface is pretty inexpensive.
A DAW like Audacity, well any DAW has a fairly steep learning curve. It can be frustrating learning how to navigate through the program.

I think it's good to be your own worst critic. That track seems so simple, yet its deceptively difficult to sound interesting. Or more likely, I ain't very good. Lol

As frustrating as learning can be, it beats the alternative.
Although sometimes you need to know when to take a break for a bit.

And no, I'm not trying to make it perfect, just good enough for me.

I hear you. That’s kinda what I did. I separated it into 3 sections. Intro, rock part and outro. I found it easier to “chunk” it than to try one continuous track.
