I recently posted a thread in the GS forum about amplitube software. Origionally my luck with this software was not too good. I had a hard time at first getting anything remotely useable, however I've played with it a little bit more since I got my new soundcard and have actually been fairly impressed with it.
Well, here is a fairly short clip I just threw together. Its an exerpt from the same song I posted the last time (crazy train) for comparison sake. This time all done using amplitube software. The guitar was run into my behringer vamp2 but I set it to bypass the preamp so Im just basically using it to amplify the clean guitar signal to the soundcard. I definately need to invest in a mic preamp.
Its definatle not perfect. I need to do some tweeking on the settings for amplitube. Im surprised at how much gain it has. For this clip, I had the overdrive set full and the gain at about 1/3rd and it is still probably way too much.
